Setting Up global styling in Elementor

Global styling in Elementor allows you to define certain styles or settings that apply consistently across multiple elements or sections on your website. This can include things like font styles, colors, spacing, and more. Here’s how you can set up global styling in Elementor:

Access the Global Widget

Design System

Define Global Colors

In the sites settings, under design system you'll find options to define global colors. These are colors that you can reuse across your entire website.
Click on "Global Colors" to access the color palette. Here, you can define your primary color, secondary color, text color, and more.
Once you've set your global colors, they'll be available for use throughout your website, making it easy to maintain consistency.
You can also set custom colors here

Define Global Fonts

Defining global Typography

Here you can define global typography styles for headings and text elements.
Click on "Typography" in the Global Styles settings to access the typography settings.
Here, you can set the font family, font size, font weight, line height, and other typography settings for headings and text elements.
These global typography settings will apply to all headings and text elements on your website unless overridden locally.

Button styling

Here you can define global button styling like padding, background color, text color, and border color for both hover and normal state. Please note that the button style is only for the Elementor button widget and not for any 3rd party button widget plugin.

Image Styling

Here you can define global image styling like border radius and css filters, box shadow , opacity for both normal and hover states.

Layout

Allows you to set "content Width" which by default is 1140px. Its always good to set the content width to fixed length say 1260px so that the layout will remain fixed irrespective of screen size.
You can set widget spacing, which by default be 20px by 20px, this spacing is used to add spacing between two widgets inside a layout
The page title selector allows you to choose the default heading tag when ever you drag and drop a heading widget into the layout, By default H1 title will be selected.
You can also set the default page layout, you can select 1 of the 3 options which is "default", "Elementor full width" and "Elementor canvas (no header and footer)"

Breakpoints

In Elementor, breakpoints refer to the different screen sizes at which your website’s layout adjusts to ensure optimal viewing and usability on various devices, such as desktops, tablets, and smartphones.

Desktop: This is the default breakpoint and represents the layout of your website on standard desktop or laptop screens.
Tablet Portrait: This breakpoint represents the layout of your website on tablets, such as iPads and similar devices. Tablet screens are smaller than desktops but larger than smartphones. The default breakpoint value of tablet is "1024px."
Mobile Portrait: This breakpoint represents the layout of your website on smartphones and other mobile devices. Mobile screens are the smallest of the three breakpoints with default value of "767px."

Note The Tablet Portrait and Mobile Portrait breakpoints are by default given by Elementor and cannot be deleted, additional break points can be added based on custom screen requirements.

By setting up global styling in Elementor, you can ensure consistency in design across your entire website while also making it easier to update styles globally if needed. This can save you time and effort in managing the appearance of your website.
