Accessing Themes

  • Login to the WordPress Dashboard.
  • On the left sidebar, go to "Appearance" and click on "Themes."

Explore Themes

  • Click on the "Add New" button to browse and explore thousands of free themes available in the WordPress theme repository.
  • Use the search bar to find specific themes by name or use filters for different features, styles, or layouts.

Installing a Theme

  • Hover over a theme to see a "Preview" option. Click "Preview" to see how your site would look with that theme.
  • If satisfied, click "Install" to install the theme on your website.
  • After installation, click "Activate" to make the installed theme the active design for your site.

Customizing Themes

Some themes offer customization options. To customize a theme, click on the “Customize” option under “Appearance” in the sidebar. Here, you can adjust various elements such as colors, fonts, layout, and more to match your site’s style and branding.

  • Log in to the WordPress Dashboard.
  • Navigate to "Appearance" and select "Customize."
Customization Panel

The Customizer panel provides various options to modify the theme’s settings, including

  • Site Identity: Change site title, tagline, and logo.
  • Colors: Adjust color schemes for various elements like headers, backgrounds, links, etc.
  • Fonts/Typography: Modify font styles, sizes, and headings.
  • Layout Settings: Configure layout structures, such as sidebar placement, content width, etc.
  • Additional Theme Options: Explore additional settings specific to the theme being used.
Live Preview

The Customizer enables a live preview of changes made in real-time. Adjustments can be previewed before they are saved and applied.

Widgets and Menus
  • Access widget areas to add, remove, or rearrange widgets (e.g., sidebar widgets, footer widgets).
  • Modify menu structures and locations through the Customizer.
